Double side folded out mat.

Bought for £83 (posted) from SuperSkoda in Czechia.

Ordered four days ago.

Closed up it has the same covering as the rest of the boot.

Kinja'd!!!

But lower the seats and fold out the mat and you’ve a rubber coated side easy clean protection for the boot area and the rear of the seats.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

There is also a bit that folds out to cover the rear bumper.

The mat is upside down at pres ent as it came rolled up and the edges are curled up, so I’m flattening then out for a day or two.

Wow, best trunk/boot liner I’ve ever seen.

I’m still a little sad VAG doesn’t do as many fold-flat seats as they used to. My old Passat (I believe the Superb did the same) had a folding seat bottom that moved forward, then the seatback would drop down and be held perfectly horizontally by a metal tab on the seat bottom. It was ingenious, created a perfectly flat, unbroken load surface, and you never had to worry about indenting the padding or leather because none of the surfaces were pressed together.

Everything today seems to just drop the seatbacks onto the seat base.

Ye, the fold flat seats would of been better as the upturned seat base also creates a sort of bulkhead to stop stuff flying forward. I think in part it’s because the seat backs are so tall now on some cars it just isn’t possible to have an upturned seat base between the top of the seat back and the front seats.

The likes of the Honde Fi t/Jazz and eighth and ninth gen Honda Civics make the folding rear seats a work of art.

Fold up

Fold down, where the seat base lowers into the floor so the seat back can fold flat.
